Cookie Policy
Last updated 1 June 2026
1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how Aethera ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage, pixels, and SDKs) on the Aethera website and application at https://aethera.ai (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the Service is used. We also use related technologies such as local storage and third-party SDKs/scripts that perform similar functions; in this policy we refer to all of them as "cookies".
Cookies may be:
- First-party (set by Aethera) or third-party (set by our service providers);
- Session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (remain for a set period).
3. Categories of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies (always on)
These are required for the Service to function and cannot be switched off. They include authentication/session cookies, security and load-balancing cookies, and consent-preference storage. Without them, you cannot sign in or use core features.
| Provider | Purpose | Type | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication and session management (keeps you signed in) | First-party | Session / up to ~1 year |
| Cloudflare | Security, bot mitigation, and load balancing | Third-party | Session / up to ~1 year |
| Vercel | Application hosting and routing | First-party | Session |
| Stripe | Payment processing and fraud prevention on checkout/billing pages | Third-party | Session / up to ~1 year |
| Aethera | Storing your cookie-consent preferences | First-party | Up to ~1 year |
3.2 Analytics and performance cookies
These help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. Where required by law, we set these only with your consent.
| Provider | Purpose | Type | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| PostHog | Product analytics: feature usage, events, and page views (page views captured manually; traffic is proxied through our own domain at /ingest) | First-party / Third-party | Up to ~1 year |
| Google Analytics | Website and app traffic and audience analytics (gtag.js) | Third-party | Up to ~2 years |
| Microsoft Clarity | Usage analytics and session-replay-style interaction recording (heatmaps, clicks, scrolls) | Third-party | Up to ~1 year |
Note on Microsoft Clarity: Clarity may record interactions with the page (such as mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling) to produce session replays and heatmaps. Sensitive input fields (such as passwords and payment details) are masked so they are not captured in recordings.
3.3 Diagnostics and reliability
| Provider | Purpose | Type | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sentry | Error monitoring and performance diagnostics to keep the Service stable | Third-party | Session / up to ~1 year |
3.4 Functional cookies
| Provider | Purpose | Type | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aethera | Remembering preferences such as theme (light/dark), sidebar state, and other UI settings | First-party | Persistent (local storage) |
3.5 Marketing cookies
We do not currently set advertising cookies on the website. The tools below are used for email communications and engagement tracking, primarily through pixels inside emails rather than cookies set in your browser on the site.
| Provider | Purpose | Type | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ActiveCampaign / Loops | Email marketing and engagement tracking (primarily email pixels) | Third-party | Varies |
Exact cookie names and durations vary by provider and change over time. Run a cookie scanner on the live site to generate a precise, itemized table before publishing.
4. Why we use cookies
- to keep you signed in and secure your session;
- to process payments and prevent fraud;
- to remember your preferences;
- to measure and improve performance and usage of the Service;
- to detect, diagnose, and fix errors; and
- where applicable, to communicate with you about the Service.
5. Your choices and how to manage cookies
- Consent banner. Where required (for example in the EEA and UK), we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies through a cookie banner when you first visit. You can change your choices at any time via the Cookie settings link in our footer, which reopens the consent banner.
- Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the Service.
- Opt-outs for specific providers:
- Google Analytics: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity / Microsoft: see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- PostHog: opt out via our cookie controls or by enabling "Do Not Track" where supported.
- Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because we provide a cookie consent banner for you to control non-essential cookies, we do not separately respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
6. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes or as required by law. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
